Take a look at the video below of a Tesla Semi traveling down a California highway in Sacramento.
YouTube user Vlad fed said he was driving around 72mph when the silver Semi passed him “like it was nothin.”
In the background, you’ll notice an Ikea Home Furnishings store. That places the truck on the east bound lane of Interstate 80. The Tesla Gigabit Factory in Sparks, Nev., is located along I-80 roughly 158 miles from that store.
The Tesla Factory is located in Fremont, which is 105 miles southwest of Sacramento, near San Francisco. Two other videos of the Tesla Semi were recorded near the UPS Customer Center in Sunnyvale, Calif., which is 20 miles southwest of Fremont across San Fransisco Bay.
A Tesla charging map shows one Tesla Supercharger between Sacramento and Sparks in the city of Roseville, located along I-80. Several Supercharger stations are located in the Sunnyvale area.
So far, no videos have emerged showing the Tesla Semi hauling any loads. Tesla Founder and CEO Elon Musk said the truck, a day cab with a center-positioned steering wheel, has a range of 500 miles. Production is set to begin next year.
