Continental Tire the Americas, LLC, has launched a new line of commercial tires for 2016 dubbed Ameri*Steel by General Tire.
This new line of both long haul and regional tires pays homage to past General Tire commercial truck tires and includes drive and steer tires that are designed to be affordable and reliable.
“We’re very excited to offer a line of products for our customers who want a balance of both affordability and performance to suit their needs,” says Alex Chmiel, marketing director for commercial vehicles tires for Continental. “We recognize the market need for this level of product, and we’ve stepped up to make a high-quality line that will be produced locally here in the USA.”
The Ameri*Steel S380A long haul steer tire features a decoupler groove that is designed to extend tread life and offer consistent performance in over the road applications. In addition, the Ameri*Steel D460 long haul/regional drive tire offers flexible, long lasting performance and reliability, the company says.
The regional tires in this line include the all-position Ameri*Steel S360. The Ameri*Steel D450 drive tire is designed to deliver optimal traction for those customers needing an open shoulder design, Continental says.
