Georgia authorities are asking for help in a case of hit-and-run involving a log truck driver who may not be aware of having struck and seriously injured a man on a bicycle.

Police in Waycross, Ga. report that on May 25 a man on a bike left the parking lot of a liquor store and crashed into the rear wheels of an empty log truck on U.S. Highway 84, which is also known as Plant Avenue.

The man was flown to University of Florida Health in Jacksonville, Fla. with serious injuries, according to news4jax.com. Hard Working Trucks contacted the hospital Wednesday, but Wallace was no longer a patient there and staff would not release information on his condition.

Police said it’s possible that the truck driver was not even aware of the collision and are hoping that someone will come forward with information leading to the driver’s identity.

At the time of the accident, which occurred around 9:45 a.m., the truck, described as having a white cab, was traveling west bound on U.S. 84 slightly east of Waycross.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact Waycross police at 912-287-2921.
