Updated Sep 17, 2013

Our sister site, CCJ, has confirmed that Navistar has completed the build of the first four commercially-available DuraStar 4300 trucks with the Cummins ISB 6.7-liter engine.

A Navistar spokesperson confirmed to CCJ’s Jack Roberts that these units – known as “Q” (Quality) builds – were built in Escobedo, Mexico and will be used to validate production designs and processes.

These four Q builds follow 16 validation vehicles that were built at Navistar’s Test and Development center in Melrose Park, Ill. The 16 trucks have been accumulating miles in field tests with a validation fleet, accumulating more than 55,000 test miles

An additional 100,000 miles are expected to be logged by the end of September.
