Alcon Components is now offering a brake upgrade for Ford F-150 and F-150 Raptor which the company says provides up to a 33 percent reduction in pad work rate, among other performance improvements.
Ductile iron caliper housings matched with high friction pads and larger rotors reduce the potential for brake fade and offer up to a 15 percent reduction in pedal effort. By using larger rotors and pads, the brakes run cooler (up to a 10 percent drop in disc temperature) and increase pad life, Alcon reports.
Corrosion protection is courtesy of epoxy acrylic paint over an acid zinc finish. A wiper seal is used on every piston for dirt exclusion. (Check out Alcon’s video below to see how the brakes perform.)
The low-profile design fits inside 17-inch Raptor wheels as well as many other 17-inch and larger aftermarket wheels.
Alcon’s front and rear brake upgrade fits 2010-2014 and 2017-up Ford SVT Raptor and 2009-up Ford F-150.
