Charging can make or break the Ford F-150 Lightning
Get away from home- or work-based overnight AC charging and the Ford F-150 Lightning will cost significantly more to fuel up at DC fast-chargers.
Towing took a big chunk out of range in the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. We started out with 288 miles following a 100% charge. After inputting trailer data, range dropped to 164 miles. After hitting the road, range recalculated and left us with 124 miles to tow a 7,000 lb. load. Obviously, if you're regularly towing out of town, you'd have to seriously rethink Lightning. However, it's so inexpensive to fuel this truck and maintain it that you want to make it work, and for some, that could very well happen.
