The Future for Small Pickups

Fans of the small pickup have been longing for a truck since the failure of the Ford Ranger from U.S. Soil.

For those with needs much smaller than a F-150 can handle, a light-duty pickup would be ideal.

Ford argues that the Ranger is too close in size to the F-Series and would ruin sales. Ford’s truck marketing manager Doug Scott believes a small pickup will be produced, but it will be far from now.

In light of this dilemma, Josh Byrnes of Car Scoops created his own version of a modern, light-duty pickup for Ford.

This pickup would be powered with a 1.6L, 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine or a 3.2L 5-cylinder Power Stroke diesel from the 2014 Transit. It would have elements of Ford’s vehicle offerings such as the C1 platform of the Transit Connect.

Byrnes’ sleek design seems to be fitting for those looking for a small pickup.
