Ram Long-Hauler likely in the works

Ram president, CEO announces plans to make concept a reality

Fred Diaz, president and CEO of Ram, has revealed intentions of building a Ram Long-Hauler based on last year’s concept, reports Autoblog.

The four-door MegaCab is expected to feature a 197.7-inch-wheelbase, mirror-filling width and a 37,500-pound gross vehicle weight rating. According to Picuptrucks.com’s recent test, it’s an excellent performer.

Customers may also see an eight-foot bed and a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine on this 5500-chassis-based dually, which is anticipated to hold up to 170 gallons of fuel.

Dealers are eager to see this new truck hit the market, Diaz told reporters at Ram’s headquarters in Auburn Hills on September 17.
