The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to determine how a tow truck driver fell to his death while attempting to recover a tractor-trailer that had tipped over onto an I-95 overpass in Boca Raton on Wednesday.

Troopers have not released the name of the tow truck driver who had been working at the accident scene near Congress Road around 8 a.m. yesterday where a semi had fallen over onto the ledge of the overpass while trying to exit the freeway. The trucker was not injured.

“I don’t know how far he walked or exactly what he was doing, but at some point, he got to the edge, and he stepped off, evidently, and that’s when he fell,” FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky told foxnews.com. “We’re still trying to determine what exactly happened. I’m sure they’ll be interviewing the driver of the truck, also.”

Though the investigation is still underway, Wysocky said trucks normally tip over when drivers are traveling too fast.

The 30-year-old semi driver, Adrian Figueredo, works for JJR Transport and Logistics out of Lehigh Acres, Fla. The tow truck driver had been employed by Emerald Towing in Boca Raton.
