Recently released video below shows a box truck in Northern California becoming the first vehicle to be struck by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) train.

The truck’s driver is shown going around the railroad crossing arms before being slammed by the train last Thursday in Santa Rosa. Though the truck was obliterated, the driver, 68-year-old Detlev Ihlenfeld, survived without any life-threatening injuries.

The train had been traveling at 77mph in a 79mph zone, according to The Press Democrat.
