It’s clear during the broadcast below that a news reporter with KHOU in Houston is very concerned for a truck driver trapped in a rig on a flooded Houston street.

Thankfully, Harris County deputies show up to rescue the man in an airboat on Beltway 8.

KHOU reporter Brandi Smith and photographer Mario Sandoval, who covered the rescue, were not able to get back to their station, which like so many other buildings in Houston is flooded. Sandoval flagged deputies down and told them about the stranded trucker, according to The Washington Post. During the broadcast, Smith, her voice wavering at times, says she’s relieved to see the man rescued and recalls how last year another truck driver wasn’t as fortunate and lost his life driving on a flooded Houston street.

Smith interviews the trucker following his rescue.
