Police in Bellingham, Wash. report that arson left one city truck destroyed and five others damaged early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters arriving at a city-owned parking lot around 4 a.m. found a public works pickup on fire. They extinguished the flames, but the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado was completely destroyed, according to komonews.com.
Five other trucks in the lot had burns around their opened gas caps where flammable material had been stuffed inside the filler necks and lit on fire.
It’s estimated that the city, which is self-insured, will have to pay about $30,000 to replace the destroyed pickup. The five other trucks will be repaired at a local shop.
No arrests have been made.
