F-Series Leads In Total Vehicle Sales
The turn around in the construction and housing markets the past few months has seen an increase in the sales of pickup trucks as contractors replace aging vehicles. All the makers of full-size pickups have seen sales increases of late but Ford leads the market and is on track to sell upwards of 700,000 F-Series trucks this year.
Ford sold 71,604 pickups, last month, passing the 70,000 mark for the first time since March 2007. Despite impressive sales increases in May by GM and Chrysler, they couldn’t hold a candle to Ford’s number. GM sold 59,344 trucks for Silverado/Sierra combined sales were 59,344 for May, and Chrysler sold 31,672 Ram trucks.
Industry analysts expect the surge in pickup sales to continue for all manufacturers, with the Big Three US manufacturers leading the pack in the pickup segment.
