Duramax Upgrades
BD Diesel Performance parts installed
July 2, 2012
Busy day here at Truck Supply & Outfitters. Daniel Parker and David Adair installed numerous BD Diesel Performance parts on Big Red’s Duramax.
They put in the Positive Air Shutdown (PAS) device so this truck could be safely used in and around oil/gas production sites and in the field.
The safety device is automatic, so the driver doesn’t have to worry about the engine grenading should it get a big whiff of methane or other flammable gas.
While they were at it, Parker pulled off the driver’s side exhaust manifold and replaced it with BD’s performance manifold for much better exhaust flow to the turbo.
The duo also installed BD’s Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hoses and bigger clamps, and plugged in the Variable Vane Brake (VVB) controlled so our sweepstakes truck has maximum engine braking power whenever that’s needed.
We’ll cover these upgrades in detail on the web and in coming issues….Bruce Smith/Editor
