Forrest Williams puts 45,000 miles a year on his ’08 Chevy Silverado 3500HD Dually 4×4 as a contract pipeline welder. The Tuscaloosa, Alabama, businessman says the Duramax – upgraded with EFILive software, S&B cold-air intake and FlowPro DPF delete – does just fine moving 3,500 pounds of equipment in the bed that includes a Lincoln Electric SA200 welder. The 8-inch Superlift suspension and 37×12.50 Hankook Dynapro M/Ts give the needed ground clearance to get to his more remote jobsites from New Mexico to the Carolinas.

Harrison Fire Company (NJ) 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax 4X4 is a custom conversion by 1st Attack Engineering in Auburn, Indiana. It sits atop a 6-inch suspension lift and Mickey Thompson 35×12.50R17 Radial Baja Claws. It carries a 220-gallon NFPA Custom Copolymer water tank, 380gpm 20hp Darley Pump, Scotty foam system, Warn 9000 Multi-Mount, 100 feet of hose on electric reels, two safety jump seats behind the cab and plenty of high-intensity LED lighting.
