A tanker truck careened off a highway in Northern California this morning and landed on a street below during rush hour traffic.
The driver of the aviation fuel truck was hospitalized. He had been traveling southbound on Highway 41 around 7:30 a.m. in Fresno when he veered off the highway and crashed onto Van Ness Avenue below. The tanker was empty according to abc30.com.
The California Highway Patrol reported that at least three other vehicles were involved in the crash including another semi that struck pieces of the tanker truck left behind on the highway.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
