The best selling luxury vehicle in the U.S. is a pickup, not a car.
Forbes reports today that five of the top 10 vehicles with hefty sticker prices of $50,000 or more are full-size trucks parked in the lap of luxury.
Ford’s F-150, dressed to impress in either its Lariat, Kings Ranch or Platinum trim packages, ranks as the best-selling luxury pick-up.
Here’s how Forbes adds it up: Around 50 percent of the 780,354 F-150s sold in the U.S. last year were luxury models. None of the other luxury automakers come close. Not BMW, Lexus or Cadillac.
Forbes gives a nod to the GMC Sierra Denali, Titan XD Platinum Reserve, XD SL and PRO-4X and the Toyota Tundra 1794 Crew Max 4Ă—4.
