2014 Sweepstake’s Winner Max Davis Gets Keys To Surveyor 1 Ram Truck

“Wow! That truck is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures.”

Those were the first words Max Davis uttered when he saw Surveyor 1, the customized 2013 Ram 2500HD, roll onto the jobsite where he was standing.

Davis, the winner of the 2014 ProPickup/Hardworkingtrucks.Com sweepstakes truck, had only seen it on the HWT website where he’d read every article of the build after registering online through Total Landscape Care’s website.

A few minutes later Davis, owner of MxRa Construction and Landscaping, was handed the keys by Dan Tidwell, VP of Randall-Reilly publishing’s Construction Media Division.

“When I saw the [registration] ad for the sweepstakes last Fall, I fell in love with the truck and how you guys were upgrading it,” Davis told Senior Editor Bruce Smith who was also on hand for the presentation in Lakeway, Texas.

“This is a phenomenal boost to me emotionally and from a business perspective,” said Davis who served two tours in the Marines before devoting the last 30 years to the landscaping and home construction/remodeling business in the Houston and now Austin area.

“You guys don’t know how big a shot in the arm this gives my little business.”

Davis plans on putting Surveyor 1 to work right away, filling the storage compartments and slide-out drawers with the tools and hardware of his trade.

“Mr. Davis is exactly the type of winner we envisioned when we started the truck build early last year,” says Smith who worked alongside Warren Spears of Spears Auto Repair in Long Beach, MS, to put the truck together.

“A small contractor with big dreams who wins a truck designed to be a great tool – with just enough looks to turn heads.”

“I know none of this would have been possible without the support from Mobil Delvac, Ram Commercial Truck, and all the other sponsors who helped turn Surveyor 1 into this great truck,” said Davis. “Thank you all.”
