Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) says it will make a used-truck warranty option available through its authorized dealers for any used FUSO work truck up to 7 years old with less than 300,000 miles on it at time of purchase.

The Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty is available at three different coverage intervals (3 months/10,000 miles, 6 months/20,000 miles or 12 months/30,000 miles) and two levels of coverage — Gold and Platinum.

Both the Gold and Platinum levels cover 19 engine items, the transmission case and all internal parts (except Allison transmissions used in class 6/7 FK/FM models), as well as the rear axle and differential. Specifically, the engine coverage includes the block, cylinder head, oil pan, thermostat housing, flywheel, pistons, rings and virtually all other internal engine parts — even the cylinder head bolts and head gasket. The Platinum level also covers fuel injectors and the turbocharger.

“Every new FUSO work truck comes with our industry-best 5-Year/175,000-Mile Powertrain Warranty. But we recognize that not every FUSO owner purchases a new truck,” Todd Bloom, president and CEO of MFTA, says. “So, together with National Truck Protection, we have developed the new Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty to reinforce our commitment to help lower the cost-of-ownership for all owners of late-model FUSO trucks. For those who purchase a pre-owned FUSO, the new Diamond Mark Used Truck Warranty program should give them peace-of-mind regarding repair costs, as well as the advantage of financial predictability as they focus on their business.”
