Detroit Diesel Corporation announced Wednesday that the Detroit DT12 Automated Manual Transmission is now available for Freightliner Cascadias equipped with the Detroit DD13 engine.
“Because of the type of routes that they run, which often involve a lot of stop and go operations, our regional haul customers are seeking ways to extend fuel economy,” says Brad Williamson, manager, engine and component marketing for Daimler Trucks North America.
Daimler says its DT12 paired with the DD13 engine is ideally suited for regional haul, pick-up and delivery applications.
The DT12 combines the operational ease of an automatic with the efficiency of a manual transmission, and features a lighter weight.
The DT12 comes standard with a 5-year/750,000-mile warranty, with a 3-year/350,000- mile warranty on the clutch.
