GM is recalling certain 2014-2017 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles equipped with power window switches that may be susceptible to corroding and catching fire.
GM reports that liquid may leak into the driver’s power window switch and cause corrosion, resulting in high electrical resistance and increasing the risk of fire.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side window switch, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM’s number for this recall is 18155.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
