The Mercedes-Benz Metris van can now be upfitted with refrigeration through Commercial Van Solutions.Commercial Van Solutions in Lancaster, Pennsylvania announced that it’s now offering a refrigeration upfit for the Mercedes-Benz Metris van.
Commercial Van has enjoyed a surge in business while offering a wide range of services and products related to mostly full-size Euro-style vans, including upfits for plumbers and businesses requiring mobile refrigeration.
“Commercial Van Solutions is proud to have custom-built the first refrigerated vans built on the new Mercedes-Benz Metris van platform,” the company’s press release states.
“The Mercedes-Benz Metris makes a perfect small refrigerated delivery van and Commercial Van Solutions is your connection to the coolest new Mercedes-Benz up-fitted to a refrigerated van.”
Since opening its doors in 2014, Commercial Van has gone from four employees and upfitting 70 vans a year to 18 employees and about double the number of vans, according to lancasteronline.com
“People are having harder and harder times finding CDL drivers for the big refrigeration trucks,” Gray said. “For vans, you don’t need CDL drivers, plus they’re easier to get in and out of when you’re delivering to restaurants.”
Gray also credits the growing home delivery segment for increasing the popularity of vans.
Targeted digital ads handled by Curveball Marketing have increased the company’s profile in about a dozen states.
“Our hits on our website went from about 1,100 a month to over 6,000,” Gray said of their expanded online ad campaign. “We also do the New York restaurant show and the Boston seafood show.”
Among Commercial Van’s skilled workforce are Nepalese refugees brought to the U.S. through Church World Services based in Lancaster. Gray remains impressed with their skill level and work ethic.
Commercial Van has gained additional customers through its graphics services, luxury van rentals and upfits for handicapped accessible vans.
Commercial Van is the exclusive ReeferTek dealer for the mid-Atlantic region. Other brands used in their upfits include Ranger Design, Incident Communication Solutions, Carrier, Thermoking and AbiliTrax.
