Fleets interested in switching to natural gas can take advantage of an all-new, free demonstration program, Westport announced this week at APTA Expo.
“Drive Now with CNG,” for fleets interested in the Westport WiNG Power System Ford Transit Van, is designed to give the experience and benefits of operating on compressed natural gas.
“From coast-to-coast, fleets are saving thousands of dollars on their operating costs by taking advantage of lower-cost natural gas,” says Paul Shaffer, Westport Dallas vice president. “Westport’s new Transit Van demo program will enable companies to see first-hand the benefits of CNG for their business.”
Fleets from across the country will have the chance to put the Westport powered Transit Van through its paces in regular business service for up to three weeks, according to Westport.
The Transit Van is offered with a gaseous prep 3.7L V6 engine at 10,000 GVW and below. Wesport offers three different van lengths and heights with a 12 passenger seating minimum. EPA and CARB certification are pending.
As a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier, the original Ford warranty remains intact, the company notes.
