Chevy recently announced a new 6.6-liter V8 gas engine for the 2020 Silverado HD.

The 401-hp engine offers a 22 percent uptick in torque (464 lb.-ft.) and 18 percent more towing capacity (17,400 lbs.) over the outgoing 6-liter gas engine.

In the video below, Mike Kociba, assistant chief engineer at General Motors, points out the highlights on the 6.6 which includes an aluminum oil pan and nylon intake to help reduce weight. The engine will also be available on 2020 GMC Sierra HD.
