Besides announcing design changes for the XTR truck cap, Snugtop also reports that it’s now offering a new, second generation version of the cap.
The original XTR cap now features integral full-width fairing that serves as a front attachment point for the built-in, 2-inch diameter tubular roof rack which now extends to the rear of the shell.
A wide range of accessories are available to fit the 2-inch rack bars, giving the Snugtop XTR the ability to securely carry an assortment of recreational gear that includes kayaks, canoes, surfboards and skis. Tie-downs and nets are also available to help transport furniture, cargo and building supplies.
The new XTR G2 features aerodynamic enhancements including flush-mounted glass windows and a curved, all-glass tailgate. Other features include a rotary latch with stainless steel rods and a Snugrug interior shell headliner.
The XTR G2 has a honeycomb-reinforced roof for extra load carrying capacity and is covered by a lifetime structural warranty.
The XTR G2, which also comes with a lifetime paint warranty, features painted-to-match factory colors using the highly regarded Axalta ChromaPremier basecoat/clearcoat process.
All Snugtop products are manufactured at the firm’s Long Beach, Calif. facility.
