The Diesel Brothers gave an update on their flood relief plans and revealed their new book during a Facebook Live session today in New York.

Dave “Heavy D” Sparks and Dave “Diesel Dave” Stiles are both cutting a promotional tour short this week in the Big Apple to help victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. After asking for flood relief donations yesterday, Sparks said their shop in Woods Cross, Utah was inundated with donations.

“Speaking of the power of social media–this is phenomenal,” Sparks said. “We put up a post yesterday saying that we wanted to take some supplies down to Texas. We were expecting to take, maybe, one pickup bed full of stuff. Our shop if full of stuff–of pallets, of water, supplies. I just saw a giant pallet of horse food show up. People are geniuses.”

“They filled up two semis full of food and supplies,” Stiles added.

“We’re going to take those supplies down to Texas and do everything we can to help,” Sparks said. “Look out for every opportunity you can to help out in Texas because there is a lot of need down there right now.”

Sparks and Stiles answered viewers’ questions during the roughly 18-minute long webcast and also introduced their new book, The Diesel Brothers: A Truckin’ Awesome Guide to Trucks and Life.

Concerned with keeping up with thousands of viewers’ questions, the diesel duo opted to focus on answering the most frequently asked questions in their book. Sparks and Stiles also give readers an inside look into their personal lives, including mission trips they’ve taken.

“Both of us really came from nothing,” Sparks said. “We didn’t have someone that handed us a business and said, ‘Take it and run with it.’ We just kind of formed it and grinded away until it worked.”
