A San Diego woman is lucky to be alive after the F-150 Raptor she was in crashed into a pool.

The woman had been riding in the front passenger seat when her 68-year-old husband stopped and left the truck to drop something off at a relative’s home Friday, according to thedrive.com. As he stepped away from the truck, it began rolling downhill and took his wife on what probably proved to be the most traumatic ride of her life.

Unable to stop the pickup, the woman watched helplessly as the truck rode through a yard and two fences before plunging into a pool. The worst part? The truck landed on the bottom of the pool on the passenger side leaving the woman completely submerged and trapped inside.

Thankfully, a Good Samaritan working at a home nearby rushed over, grabbed a brick and began smashing out the driver side window which was just below the surface.

Gabriel Mejia saw the woman blowing air bubbles as he pounded at the glass and then used his bare hand to finish the job and pull her head above water until emergency crews arrived, according to fox5sandiego.com. Mejia’s hand was bloodied.

“It’s no problem. It’s okay,” Mejia said of his hand while being interviewed by Fox 5.

The woman, who called Mejia her angel, was taken to the local hospital for treatment. AAA pulled the truck from the pool which appeared to be damaged from the impact.
