Fun Trucks Friday: Shelby Raptor Concept demonstrator ‘barn find’

Updated Jun 23, 2014

Performance upfitter Shelby American is cleaning out the garage and putting a few of their concept and prototype vehicles up for sale, including one of two Shelby Raptor Concept pickups the company used as demonstrators.

The company recently relocated to its new World Headquarters just off of the Sunset Strip in Las Vegas and, as with any move, Shelby American had to make some decisions about what gets showcased in the new digs.

“The Shelby vehicles found in this exclusive offering are a representative sample of some of the most significant cars that we have built,” says Gary Patterson, vp of sales and marketing, in introducing the Enthusiast Collection to Shelby customers. “We would rather see them put into homes and collections where they will be used and cherished rather than sitting in our warehouse.

“Carroll’s favorite car was always ‘the next one’ so to make room in our garage for ‘the next ones’ we are offering you the opportunity to score a real barn find right in front of your eyes.”

The 2013 Shelby Raptor Concept up for sale comes with a 575hp supercharged and inner-cooled 6.2 liter engine, gauges and full Shelby interior and graphics.

The pickup was featured in Shelby American’s sales literature and attended many shows and events. Of the two company trucks, this one is fully optioned: Shelby Method wheels, Stealth bumpers, LED bumper lights, front and rear LED rack lights, King Shocks, frame strengthening, upper and lower control arms, spare tire, engine/trans and rear skid plates, HID head lights, navigation and premium stereo.

Asking price, as listed in the Enthusiast Collection brochure (5.5MB), is $125,000 – and that includes a certificate of authenticity noting the vehicle’s history and specifications, and a CD of digital images.

Hey, a lucky spin of the wheel next time you’re in Vegas and you can pay cash.

Or, you can just look at some of Shelby American’s photos here and sigh.
