Work truck owners and pickup enthusiasts love to know how the newest trucks perform.
That’s where we shine. Over the course of a year, the editorial staff at Hard Working Trucks gets behind the wheel of the newest pickups, SUVs, as well as side-by-sides and utility vehicles to evaluate their performance.
Sometimes those evaluations are during short one- and two-day manufacturer “ride-and-drive” programs where we get to see the vehicle for the first time and spend a few hours behind the wheel. We call those “First Drives.”
Later on we get our hands on the vehicles for a week where we get a much better feel for how the new product really performs. Those are “Road Tests.”
It’s during road tests where we put the vehicles through a 100-mile test loop to get mpg numbers.
Then we put them through acceleration and braking performance tests, and take the trucks on the road with trailers to evaluate their towing prowess.
