Looks are as much about function as they are form; aerodynamics play a big role in design
Chevrolet’s 2015 Tahoe (and Suburban) are new in many ways, including big changes in the exterior sheet metal.
But as exterior designer Alexandre Henriques explains in this video tour, the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban forge a new presence for Chevrolet SUVs that’s conveyed with unmistakable brand heritage.
More importantly, the designs also reflect their greater functionality, technology and refinement, which are important to contractors of all types.
For example, new inlaid doors fit into the body side openings instead of over the top of the body, significantly improving the quietness of the interior cabin and contributing to improved aerodynamics – an attribute that helps the vehicles slip through the air on the highway with less drag for greater efficiency.
Then there’s the lightweight aluminum hood and liftgate panels that reduce mass and, therefore, enhance efficiency in both operator effort and vehicle fuel economy.
