Ram Adds To Its Commercial Van Offerings
2014 Ram ProMaster full-size, purpose-built commercial van leads in payload, cargo capacity and fuel economy
Ram Commercial used the 2013 Chicago Auto Show to roll out the 2014 Ram ProMaster, a full-size commercial van purpose-built for North American prosumers who need cargo capacity, load capacity and fuel economy in their business vehicles.
The 2014 Ram ProMaster van is a direct spin-off of the Fiat Ducato, a commercial van that’s been a staple of European businesses for more than 30 years, with sales topping more than 4.5 million.
Ram’s version features the following:

The base engine is the 280hp Pentastar 3.6L with six-speed automatic, the same engine and transmission found in the 2013 Ram pickups.
Ram PoMaster features front-wheel drive and choice of 280hp Pentastar V-6 or 174hp EcoDiesel I-4 diesel.
The bigger news is the ProMaster hits the market with new 3.0-liter I-4 EcoDiesel, which Ram says has best-in-class fuel efficiency, robust capability and long service intervals.
The 174-horsepower 3.0-liter inline 4-cylinder EcoDiesel engine generates peak torque of 295 lb.-ft. at just 1,400 rpm and features a number of refinements, including internal engine components, turbo and emission controls.
Helping to reduced total cost of ownership, an oil-level sensor contributes to an oil-change schedule of up to 18,500 miles.
The ProMaster boasts a payload capacity up to 5,145 pounds and a maximum towing capacity up to 5,100 pounds.
The gross combined weight rating (GCWR) for the 3.6-liter V-6 is 11,500 pounds and 12,500 pounds for the 3.0-liter I-4 EcoDiesel.
