UNIONTOWN, Ohio – McCullough Public Relations has been selected as the public relations firm of record for STRATTEC Security Corporation, a leading manufacturer of automotive locks and keys headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis.
McCullough PR will be responsible for all public relations activities for STRATTEC and its brand of BOLT locks including press release writing, feature story coordination, media relations, product placement, on-site trade show representation and organizing company media events.
“We had the opportunity to work with McCullough PR through one of our industry partners and were impressed by their knowledge of the automotive industry, both on the enthusiast side as well as in the commercial market,” said Steve Gilles, customer business manager for BOLT.
BOLT locks are designed to permanently program the lock to the specific vehicle’s ignition key, eliminating the need for multiple keys. Here’s how the technology works: When drivers insert their ignition key into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to only that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
“Our patented one-key lock technology makes BOLT locks an ideal product for many industries, and we’re confident the team at McCullough PR will help build brand awareness and sales,” said Erika Garcia, Sales Manager for BOLT.
