Firestone expands R4TECH to fit 2010-2011 pickups
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC has expanded its R4Tech(tm) air suspension system offering to include more than 20 new applications for the 2010-2011 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 and the 2011 Ford F-250 and F-350.
Designed to replace the factory leaf spring suspension, the R4Tech system delivers an improved ride at all times by utilizing the variable spring rate of the air spring to stiffen when the truck is loaded and soften when unloaded. 
A hybrid air/leaf suspension system, the R4Tech system features a Firestone Airide(tm) air spring, Ride-Rite(tm) air accessories and a SANLUIS Rassini(r) leaf-spring suspension to create a fully functional system that adjusts for varying load capacities.
The suspension system also improves headlight aim and driveline angles independent of load conditions and delivers improved towing effectiveness.
“One of the most popular benefits of our R4Tech system is its advanced kneeling feature, which releases air pressure from the springs so the rear of the vehicle can kneel down for easy trailer coupling or loading of items into the truck bed,” said Paul Fessel, Light Duty business manager, Firestone Industrial Products Company. “This is important for people who tow frequently because it allows you to effortlessly switch out between multiple, different size trailers on your own without having to crank anything.”
Firestone and SANLUIS Rassini engineers have designed multiple applications to fit both 2WD and 4WD trucks as well as all cab and bed configurations.
The complete R4Tech system comes with the Rassini foundation suspension – including leaf plates, lower trailing link, J-spring, spring perches and mounting brackets – the Airide air spring and an air compressor control system that maintains the proper air level in the spring for the exact load you’re carrying.
Professional installation is recommended for R4Tech systems, which easily install using the same factory holes as the OEM leaf suspension.
