Various surveillance cameras recorded a pickup slamming into the side of a bus recently in Syracuse, New York.
Several passengers were injured after the late model Toyota Tacoma crashed through the side of Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (Centro) bus which had been stopped at an intersection.
Footage of the Jan. 19 accident was released recently by Centro. A woman on the bus is shown alerting a male passenger across from her just before impact.
Syracuse police report that the 82-year-old driver of the truck, who was not injured, had just exited the freeway and swerved onto the shoulder of the road to avoid hitting other cars before slamming into the bus. His 75-year-old wife, who was riding with him, was taken to the hospital for chest pain, according to abcnews.go.com.
Several passengers on the bus were taken to taken to local hospitals for minor injuries. The 54-year-old bus driver was hospitalized for chest pain.
