New Yorkers got a reminder today of just how versatile trucks can be.
New York City’s Department of Sanitation (DSNY) parked dump trucks filled with sand near Trump Tower where an election event was expected to be held. Additional trucks from DSNY also provided a protective barrier in front of the nearby Peninsula Hotel where Hillary Clinton was scheduled to make an appearance, according to townhall.com.
During a press conference in July, New York City Sanitation Department Commissioner Kathryn Garcia told reporters that the department’s snow fleet is used to protect visiting VIPs, which has included President Obama and Pope Francis.
“When the Pope was in town, it was almost like my entire snow fleet was on the streets of New York, blocking all of the route to keep him protected,” Garcia said.
