Ryder System has restructured its pre-owned vehicle segment through three vehicle categories designed to help consumers make more informed decisions as they consider thousands of used commercial vehicles that the transportation company has up for sale.

Ryder, which handles commercial fleet managements, dedicated transportation and supply chain solutions, has reorganized its inventory of 5,000-plus pre-owed vehicles into three categories: Ryder Certified, Ryder Verified and Ryder Reclassified. The three groups offer vehicle options ranging from highest quality to “as-is” condition.

“Ryder is committed to offering the greatest selection of pre-owned commercial vehicles for sale at prices that make sense for our customers,” says Eugene Tangney, Ryder vice-president and global product manager for asset management.

“By categorizing our large inventory into three classes of value, customers can now clearly identify a vehicle that will serve their needs as well as meet their budgetary concerns.”

Ryder’s highest quality pre-owned vehicles are available through its Ryder Certified program. Benefits include a 30-day limited powertrain warranty, one prior owner (Ryder), full maintenance history, rigorous 140-point inspection, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant, extended warranty options and flexible financing.

Ryder Verified vehicles include a thorough inspection, DOT compliance, extended warranty options and flexible financing.

Ryder Reclassified  offers “As-is,” damaged, and scrap vehicles for customers interested in a fixer-upper option where customers have the flexibility to modify the Ryder Reclassified vehicle to fit their specific business needs, or utilize the parts.

Ryder reports that it has the largest inventory of pre-owned vehicles for sale in North America, selling more than 17,000 vehicles a year from over 59 used truck centers across North America, including six in Canada.

In addition, Ryder’s international sales/export teams are available in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, to Central and South America. Ryder’s pre-owned vehicle inventory includes commercial and heavy-duty trucks consisting of tractors, trailers, straight trucks, panel and cube vans, refrigerated trucks, and stake trucks.
