Flights came to a halt at La Guardia Airport on Monday, but it wasn’t owed to the weather.
Planes were stuck waiting on fuel trucks that got hung-up in major traffic on the Grand Central Parkway, the New York Post reports.
Because the outgoing planes were taking up too much space on the tarmac, incoming flights could not come in for a landing.
The heavy road traffic was blamed on a truck fire and a surge of travelers anxious to take to the skies following the airport’s weekend closure caused by winter storm Jonas.
