This kind of mistake is hard to shake off.
A FedEx delivery agent mistakenly passed along a package last week containing a tumor specimen to a British man who was expecting an Amazon Kindle.
The BBC reports that James Potten, 37, opened his box from FedEx expecting to find his new electronic reader, but instead found a smaller box inside labeled “Human Specimen.”
Potten says the smaller box had been shipped from California. He left it unopened and contacted FedEx.
“The tracking code on the item had the same first five and last three numbers as my order but it wasn’t my Kindle,” Potten told the BBC.
The specimen was supposed to have been delivered to London’s Royal Free Hospital. No word on whether they ended up with Potten’s Kindle who reports receiving his device three days later on Sunday.
FedEx apologized for the error and says it is considering changes to its delivery process.
