Public workshop slated on Calif.’s proposed certification procedures for zero-emission powertrains

The project enabled researchers to evaluate the emission reduction benefits on commercially available certain hybrid construction vehicles. A workshop by CARB will discuss development of new certifications for zero-emission powertrains.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB), which is the government clean-air agency for California, is holding a public workshop on November 29 to discuss the development of certification procedures for zero‑emission powertrains.

The proposed regulation is to support implementation of funding programs, as well as current and potential future regulatory measures for zero‑emission technologies for medium‑duty, heavy‑duty, and off-road vehicles and equipment.

The goal, says CARB, is to help drive technology innovation, boost consumer confidence and provide data to help California to meet its long‑term air quality and climate goals.

The November 29 workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the California Air Resources Board, Annex 4 Auditorium, 9530 Telstar Avenue in El Monte, California.

The workshop will also be available via teleconference and GoToMeeting with this registration and teleconference information:
