Towing software company Omadi and TomTom Telematics have teamed up with the goal of improving towing services around the country.

The alliance enhances their current integration by providing customers with seamless access to both the Omadi software platform and TomTom WEBFLEET, the Software as a Service (SaaS) fleet management solution.

“It is my pleasure to announce that Omadi’s towing software platform will now be integrated at the highest level with our driver terminals and with WEBFLEET,” said Torsten Grunzig, director of North American sales for TomTom Telematics.

“Omadi is known for its strength in configurability and efficiency, and this solution offers a game-changing service to the towing industry.”

In addition to the improved software integration, the Omadi platform will also seamlessly integrate with the TomTom PRO 7250 and entirely run on the TomTom PRO 8275 driver terminal, becoming the first towing software app to run completely on a TomTom driver terminal.

Towing companies will no longer need to switch back and forth between TomTom and Omadi to complete business processes. Tow Truck operators will be able to accept a job in the Omadi app and the TomTom PRO 7250 will automatically start navigating to the location.

As the Omadi app runs 100 percent on the TomTom PRO 8275, the solution is more stable and performs better, Omadi reports. Drivers with the TomTom PRO 8275 will have no need to use a smartphone as the TomTom PRO 8275 comes equipped with a built-in camera.

According to Omadi, with the combined Omadi/TomTom Telematics fleet management solution, tow operators can now access the data they need to make faster, more informed business decisions and to be more efficient in real-time.

Tow companies gain access to a variety of powerful features including PTO and ignition tracking, location and patrol history, and driver behavior metrics.

By leveraging real-time vehicle location from WEBFLEET, Omadi virtual geo-fencing allows tow companies to send a driver to respond to a roadside assistance or PD call. Omadi then automatically time stamps a driver’s arrival and updates his/her status on the dispatch screen, eliminating the need to do this manually. This streamlined process helps reduce phone calls from dispatch to drivers to follow-up on job statuses.

“We are excited about our collaboration with TomTom Telematics, a recognized telematics leader in the towing industry. This will result in more opportunities to provide the best possible service to our joint clients,” said Charles Lukens, CEO of Omadi.
