ProPickup Magazine To Give Away Custom 4Ă—4 Dually

Year-long sweepstakes project truck build nearing the end and some lucky entrant will drive it away in mid-April

It’s known simply as  â€śBig Red.”

But to some lucky person, ProPickup Magazine’s project truck will be a dream come true.Big Red Drvside_BS28354

Over the past 12 months the magazine’s staff, with installation support from Truck Supply & Outfitters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and dozens of aftermarket manufacturers, have turned a plain Jane 2008 GMC Sierra Crew Cab Dually 4Ă—4 into a remarkable work truck.

As ProPickup editor Bruce Smith said at the outset of the project, “Pulling power, load-carrying capability, passenger comfort, versatility and dependability wrapped up in a stylish package makes for a great combination when it comes to a pickup working in the construction, aggregates, landscaping and contracting trades.”

“A pickup becomes even more desirable when it has a fully functioning service body that can be transferred from truck to truck—or left on the jobsite or in the shop—when called upon to serve as a tow vehicle or other work/recreational needs. That’s Big Red.”

Now the truck is done and it has one more tour stop before being given away in a sweepstakes drawing: The truck will be on display in the ProPickup booth (#5739) at the 2013 NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, March 5-8.

Sweepstakes registrations are open until April 1. Registration requires nothing more than going to the Big Red Sweepstakes site filling in the entry form.

The winner will be announced at the end of April.

ProPickup has given away two similar project trucks since the magazine began in 2010. In 2011, Thomas Ferguson, a Knoxville, Tennessee contractor, won the keys to the Big Boss Ram 2500HD.

Last year, Larry Coon, an Ohio excavation and concrete contractor, drove away with Project Super Crew, a 2500HD F-250 4Ă—4.
