Ram Truck announced at the National Truck Equipment Association’s Work Truck Show that 2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 medium duty Chassis Cab commercial trucks will be available with a 30,000-pound gross combined weight rating option. Targeted to those in construction, agricultural and similar markets, the increase will improve towing capability on the Ram Trucks by 4,000 pounds.
The upgrade is part of an optional Max Tow package for regular and crew cab models in 4Ă—2 and 4Ă—4 configurations, which also includes a transfer case gear set, chain and sprocket upgrades, recalibrated transmission software and enhanced thermal management devices.
