ProPickup begins Project SuperCrew

ProPickup receives keys to new Ford project truck

Project SuperCrew to be central focus of year-long truck build; 2011 Ford F-250 Crew Cab 4Ă—4 holds starring role

ProPickup magazine’s reputation for providing its construction and contracting audience with great “ideas, equipment and upgrades” for their heavy-duty pickups took big step forward when the publication’s associate publisher, Stephen Abernathy, received the keys  to their latest project truck — a 2011 Ford F-250 Crew Cab 4Ă—4.

Town & Country Ford's Claire Reeves presents Stephen Abernathy, ProPickup magazine's associate publisher, the keys to the F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 project truck.

Town & Country Ford and Ford Motor Company teamed up with the Randall-Reilly publication to be the vehicle sponsor for the magazine’s annual project build/sweepstakes truck.

“Our sweepstakes project truck is the basis for a lot of our magazine’s how-to articles and product reviews,” says ProPickup editor Bruce W. Smith.

“We have some very special plans to make this F-250 Power Stroke 4Ă—4 into a go-anywhere rolling office that any construction company owner would be proud to drive, whether around town or to the remotest location their job might take them.”

Abernathy credited Bessemer, Alabama-based Town & Country Ford’s Claire Reeves with getting just the right truck for the project.

“Claire did a great job working with us to get exaclty what our editors needed. That speaks highly of Town & Country Ford as a dealer and we are proud to be a partner with them on this year’s project truck build,” Abernathy says.

ProPickup builds one project truck a year and gives it away the following year as part of a special sweepstakes.

More details about the F-250 build and the ensuing sweepstakes will be revealed in the magazine and on the website as “Project SuperCrew” gets underway.
