1 in 4 Parents Drive Children Unsecured in Vehicle

Funded by GM Foundation Grant, Study Acknowledges Safety of Buckling Up

A $2 million grant from the General Motors Foundation funded a study in which one in four parents admitted to driving without having buckled their child in car seat or booster seat. 1,002 parents and caregivers of children ages 10 and under were surveyed.

Safe Kids Worldwide, a network of organizations dedicated to providing parents/caregivers with practical and proven resources to protect kids from unintentional injuries, released “Buckle Up: Every Ride, Every Time” on Monday as part of National Child Passenger Safety Week which continues through September 21.
