The first SoCal Work Truck & Van Show continues through Sunday at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Two shows are better than one.

Over 50 commercial trucks and vans are on display this weekend at the inaugural SoCal Work Truck & Van Show which is taking place alongside the Orange County International Auto Show at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California.

“We are excited to host a show that specializes in commercial work trucks and vans for people and businesses that use them in Southern California,” said Orange County Automobile Dealers Association Vice President K.C. Heidler. “The SoCal Work Truck & Van Show is the best place to see all the latest commercial trucks, vans and equipment from the leading manufacturers, all under one roof. If you run a business that needs a work truck, this is a must see show.”

Though the 50-year-old international show has traditionally attracted consumer-driven auto displays, the growth of the commercial vehicle in Southern California was just too big to ignore, according to the Orange County Register, and led to the creation of the SoCal Work Truck & Van Show.

Data from the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association reveals that year-to-date sales through August of light trucks and vans in Orange County have increased 16 percent over that same time period last year.

The SoCal Work Truck & Van Show includes displays from Chevrolet, Ford, Fuso, Hino, Isuzu, Nissan and Ram. Alternative fuel options include diesel hybrid, compressed natural gas and electric.

The show will focus on light to medium duty trucks (Class 1 to Class 5) which will be upfitted to appeal to a range of vocations, including delivery, contracting, landscaping and plumbing.

“Attendees will get to see, touch and explore all that upfitters are capable of doing on a variety of vehicles, as well as how they can serve their specific business needs,” the SoCal Work Truck & Van Show reports in its press release.

Unlike the Orange County International Auto Show, the SoCal Work Truck & Van Show does not have its own website yet. However, it does have a Facebook page. Both shows end Sunday at 7 p.m.
