Rigid 30″ LED Light Bar Installation & Review

Rigid SR Surveyor 1

Adding auxiliary lights has become almost a standard upfit for those who use their pickups for work and/or for outdoor recreation.

Auxiliary lights in the form of LED are also becoming the go-to light type.

LED’s whiter light and lens design projects farther than the stock headlights and adds a greater margin of driving safety.

LED light bars are the new way to maximize both lighting performance and reduce installation time.

Among the better known companies offering LED light bars is Rigid Industries. Their SR-30 and D2 LED driving lights are top quality products that should last longer than the truck they are mounted on.

Ridgid SR 30 inch

Rigid’s SR-30 LED light bar delivers a tremendous amount of well-foscused light and is easy to install.

The SR-30 is a 1.5-inch tall, 30-inch long light bar that delivers 9,600 Lumens thru 30 1-inch LEDs that draw just 7.2 amps.

We installed an SR-30 on the top plate of at Fab Fours Black Steel Elite winch bumper mounted on a 2013 Ram 2500HD.

Mounting a light bar in this locations helps protect the light bar from brush while putting it just below the level of the headlights for optimum projection.

if you have multiple lights on the truck, using a Buyers Products 6-bank rocker switch box, like the one already installed in the cab of this truck,  negates any need to run more wires through the firewall.

Installation of Rigid’s LED lights is a simple “plug-and-play” as the images in the gallery below show.
