Every business needs a reliable partner, which is why ProPickup has teamed up with Ram Commercial Trucks as the editors embark on building Surveyor 1 – a 2013 Ram 2500HD Crew Cab 4×4 diesel.
This is the second time ProPickup and Ram have partnered on a sweepstakes truck build.
In 2010 ProPickup built the Big Boss, also a Ram 2500HD. And the winner is still going strong today using it as a critical tool in his business.

Surveyor 1 will be an even sweeter Ram, with all the bells and whistles any contractor or company owner would love to have in the fleet.
Powered by the strong 370hp Cummins 6.7L I-6 that produces 800 lb-ft of torque, the 2500HD Ram will have all the towing and load carrying capability needed to handle any task – be it for work or play.
For those who require diesel power, the 2013 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine features a dramatic increase in diesel engine service intervals for fuel filters and oil changes.
Previously, the oil and fuel filter needed to be changed every 7,500 miles. That figure is now doubled at 15,000 miles (12,000 miles with B20). That cuts the cost for these service items in half!
For 2013, all Ram Heavy Duty diesels benefit from an all-new cooling system, too.
A high-efficiency fan, dual radiators, dual transmission coolers and low-slung charge air cooler afford 25 percent more heat-rejection capacity. Lower operating temperatures deliver improved performance, durability and lower operating costs.
The 2013 Ram HDs also have an industry-exclusive Ram Active Air intake system.
When the intake system senses extreme heat, it draws cooler air from the front of the vehicle – a function that also engages at high altitudes for superior throttle response in low oxygen environments.
When conditions are wet from snow, ice or water-fording, the system pulls air from an under-hood inlet, clear from snow packing and water.
