Electric Trailer Jack Replacement

Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack Upgrade

Replacing an equipment trailer’s tired, worn-out electric tongue jack is easy with the Husky Brute Power Jack

Fiddling around with the manual trailer tongue jack is a waste of good time and energy.

So is dealing with slow, finicky or worn-out electric jacks.

When it comes time to put an end to wasted manpower, the new Brute Power Jack from Husky Towing Products is an excellent replacement.

The Brute, which retails for less than $200, is built for durability and speed, and its 2-1/4″ diameter tube fits all 2″ and 2-5/16″ A-frame couplers.

It has an 18-inch stroke with an adjustable leg, has the power to easily lift  as much as 4,500 pounds, and do it faster than any other electric jack on the market according to Husky.

The jack also features Smart Stop, which uses a planetary gear timing system that shuts down the power to the motor before the nut reaches the hard stop point. This eliminates a hard mechanical stop, lessens stress on the jack and reduces current draw.

We installed an HB3000 on a Big Tex 12LX hydraulic dump trailer, on which the electric jack it came with had seen better days. The swap took less than 20 minutes.

When we were done, we put it to the speed test: The Brute Power Jack took just 15 seconds to lift the 800-pound tongue weight off the pickup’s ball while the OE jack took nearly 35 seconds.
