NTEA reports award winners, record attendance

Capping off the end of the week-long Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, NTEA announced today the winners of its Innovation Award and Green Award.

Ranger Designs was given the Innovation Award for its Max View Partition, and Altec Industries won the Green Award for its JEMS 4 Series utility truck.

Steve Carey, executive director at NTEA, presented both companies with the awards.

The Max View Partition is a transparent polycarbonate cab partition built for Ford Connect Transit, Mercedes-Benz Metris and Ram Promaster-City.

The partition is designed to better manage cab temperatures, provide an obstructed 180-degree rear view and help relieve the cramped quarters of a small cab that can result from using a solid partition.

The Altec JEMS 4 (Jobsite Energy Management System) is an updated version of its popular hybrid truck that offers an electrified PTO, or ePTO, for hydraulic power.

The JEMS 4 Series, which uses lithium-ion batteries, adds about 300 pounds in vehicle weight. The system features engine-off cab heating and cooling.

The ePTO is an on-demand system which conserves energy by operating only with the activation of the upper or lower controller interlock or by engaging the hydraulic tool circuit.

NTEA’s 52nd president, Matthew Wilson, was introduced at the President’s Breakfast Thursday morning which featured popular comedian, auto collector and host of the NBC TV show Jay Leno’s Garage, Jay Leno.

 Wilson, chairman & CEO of Switch-N-Go, AmeriDeck & Bucks Divisions of Deist Industries Inc. in Hadley, Pennsylvania, replaced outgoing president Jeffrey Messer, president of Messer Truck Equipment in Westbrook, Maine.

This year’s Work Truck Show had record attendance.
