It looks like a typical work van, but it’s far from it.
The English owner of a 1989 Ford Transit got more than a little cheeky when he took his van to Goodwood race track and amazed fans by taking the seemingly docile hauler from 0 to 60mph in five seconds and a top speed of 170mph!
His secret? The van had actually been a test mule for Jaguar while it was developing its XJ220. Years later, it’s now enjoying a second life as a crowd-pleasing sleeper van with a 540-hp 3.5-liter twin turbo V6. A manual 5-speed transmission adds to the fun.
Check out the video below, but keep in mind that it does get a little hard to watch as the van takes on some tough turns. Thankfully, it’s equipped with a roll cage just in case.
